KRHS Students create rollercoasters in Mr. Kress' physical science.
Climbing to the Top of Physical Science at KRHS!

Mr. Kress’ Physical Science classes are taking an exhilarating dive into the laws of motion! To forge this concept into hands-on learning, they built roller coasters out of poster board, paper, and tape.

They brought the laws of motion to life by calculating speed, acceleration, force, potential energy, and kinetic energy! To inspect their makeshift roller rides, they used glass marbles as test passengers. Look at these students go!

They used their teamwork and problem-solving skills to craft their very own thrilling rides. Many of the students participating said their favorite part of this project was watching their creations successfully work and having creative liberties during the construction.

Making moles with fun beverage's in class at KRHS! ☕️

In Mrs. Rifner’s AP Chemistry class, they celebrated Mole Day on October 23rd!

Students in Mrs. Rifner's class, in collaboration with Mrs. Moore's interior design class, learned about the science of fabric dyeing and used their creations to sew adorable moles for Mole Day. 🧪🧬

🧵🪡 Not only did they get to make a fun mole, but they enjoyed coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a sweet treat to go along with it! 🍬

🫖 What a fun, hands-on way to learn about Avogadro's number!

KRMS Power of the Pen team competing at the District Tournament
KRMS Power of the Pen Plotting their Victory at Districts!

Our middle school Power of the Pen team competed at the Kenton Ridge District Tournament this past weekend, and our cougar-clawed protagonists did not leave empty-handed!

Both seventh-grade and eighth-grade KR teams placed in the top five out of fifteen different schools. The seventh-grade team's page-turning skills left them with a fourth-place overall finish. The eighth-grade team achieved 3rd overall, their predatory penmanship truly proving that their pens are mightier than the sword!

Not only that, but out of 80 ambitious wordsmiths, four eighth-grade writers composed their way into the top 12. Ella D. placed 11th, Elliot E. placed 10th, Mackenzie S. placed 7th, and Jade J. placed 4th. This quartet of Cougars concluded this competition with style!

Catch these stupendous students competing at Regionals, where they'll undoubtedly roar on the page and the podium.

KRHS Represents Ireland at the Ohio Model United Nation
KRHS Team Representing Ireland 🇮🇪 Goes to Model United Nations Conference

In December, Kenton Ridge students traveled to the Columbus Convention Center to participate in the 2024 Ohio Model United Nations (OMUN), one of the biggest Model UN 🇺🇳 conferences across the country! While there, the team presented their resolution, participated in debates, and even had the chance to win some awards 🏆.

The Kenton Ridge team represented Ireland 🇮🇪 this year and was so excited 😁 to participate in this event.

⭐️ Fun fact: Kenton Ridge was the only Clark County school 🏫 to send a team this year!
