Next Steps: College Credit Plus

NEXT STEPS: COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS

If you are taking one or more College Credit Plus courses during the 2026-2027 school year, the following steps need to be completed.

____ Return your Letter of Intent and Counseling Forms along to the Guidance Office by APRIL 1, 2026. This is a state deadline. Reminder, March 27 is the last day we have school until April 7, so be sure you get your forms in before spring break!  Starting mid-March, Guidance will post a list of names of those who have submitted the required forms, so make sure to check the list to be sure your name is on it. If it isn’t on the list, this step was not done.) THIS STEP IS REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS PLANNING TO TAKE CCP COURSES IN 2026-27 (including summer 2026).

____ Apply for CCP college admission (UNLESS YOU ARE CURRENTLY TAKING CCP COURSES AT THAT COLLEGE). This includes everyone taking CCP courses, regardless if you are taking the course at KR, online through the college, or on the college campus. If you are taking courses at KR or through Clark State, complete the application at https://www.clarkstate.edu/admissions/admissions-for-college-credit-plus/students/
(this link will take you to the Admissions Process for CCP with links to the CCP Application, Permission Slip, Placement Testing. The link to register for an Orientation session is also provided if you plan to take an online or on-campus course at Clark State.) If you are taking CCP courses this year or have been admitted, you do not need to reapply for admission.

____ Complete and submit the Permission Slip to Clark State. Once you apply, you are prompted with the permission slip.

____ Take the ACT Test and/or ACCUPLACER Test. It is free. Reminder: there is a “wait period” between testing opportunities. Check the Clark State website for more information. Note: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher can be used to meet the testing requirement for eligibility/admission to CCP. Please request a transcript to be sent to Clark State in the application. If you are in 9th grade, you must wait until this school year is over and final grades are posted and GPA is calculated to request your transcript for Clark State.   CLICK HERE for information, practice questions and to register for ACCUPLACER placement testing:  https://www.clarkstate.edu/admissions/placement-assessment/

____ If you do not have ACT scores which meet eligibility or course placement you will need to register on-line to take the ACCUPLACER at Clark State.
Note: Once you are admitted, a FINAL grade of “A” in Advanced English will meet the Reading course placement testing requirement. If you are currently in 9th  grade taking Advanced English 9, you must wait until this school year is over and final grades are posted to ask Mrs. Hibbs or Mrs. Young to send your transcript to Clark Stat.

____ Complete the Student Questionnaire. Directions will be sent in your acceptance letter from Clark State.

ALL OF THESE STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOUR ADMISSION WILL BE FINALIZED.  YOU MUST BE ADMITTED TO THE COLLEGE BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE CCP CLASS.

____If you are taking CCP courses at KR, online or on campus at Clark State, you will need to attend a new student orientation. We anticipate offering an orientation session at KR after April 1.  You can also register online at https://slate.clarkstate.edu/portal/ccp_nso

____Come to the Guidancae Office, with your college CCP schedule, on the designated dates in August prior to KR’s first day to finalize your KR schedule for the entire school year IF you took CCP classes over the summer and/or are enrolled in online or on-campus CCP courses for the fall or spring semester. (Tentatively scheduled for August 11, 12, 13)

____ See Mrs. Walrod in the IMC before purchasing any college textbooks or supplies!!

NOTE: DO NOT PURCHASE OR PICK UP BOOKS FROM THE COLLEGE BOOKSTORE WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM MRS. WALROD IN THE IMC OR YOU MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE BOOKS/SUPPLIES. WE HAVE TEXTBOOKS FOR SEVERAL CCP COURSES THE DISTRICT HAS ALREADY PURCHASED THAT CAN BE CHECKED OUT TO YOU. REMEMBER, ALL CCP TEXTBOOKS ARE THE PROPERTY OF NORTHEASTERN LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AND ARE INCLUDED IN THE DISTRICT’S TEXTBOOK POLICY. THIS INCLUDES THE SUMMER TERM!!

SCHEDULING FOR CCP COURSES AT KR IS DONE THROUGH THE KR SCHEDULING PROCESS.  SCHEDULING FOR CCP COURSES OTHER THAN THOSE OFFERED AT KR IS DONE DIRECTLY WITH THE COLLEGE OFFERING THE COURSE.

YOUR KR CCP COURSE AND CLARK STATE COURSE ENROLLMENT (IF ANY) SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY JUNE 2, 2026.

IF TAKING COURSES ONLINE OR AT THE COLLEGE, PLEASE GIVE THE GUIDANCE OFFICE A COPY OF THAT SCHEDULE BY JUNE 2, 2026 (for summer and fall classes).
